First off, here’s the Rocky moment the reader’s talking about in gif form.
Jammer awareness is incredibly important here. Rocky’s jammer (I think Alpha Q?) pays attention to Hyper Lynx going down, but she also nearly misses OMG attempting to pull a cut on her. I think it’s incredibly important to be hyper vigilant about these things, and pay attention to who knocks you out (as well as who’s in front of you). Don’t let yourself get dragged back if you don’t need to.
Here’s another example from the NYSE/Mass Maelstrom game at the Mohawk Valley Cup.
The third example of jammer awareness that I think is especially crucial—and hard to show without sound, so no gif—is listening for verbal “Out of play!” warnings from the officials when you’re being drawn back. If one blocker attempts to pull you back too far and gets an out of play verbal for exiting the engagement zone, you’re free to cut them. (Be sure you don’t cut people who are still in play, however.)
